What to expect during your wax at The SKN Lab
Before Your Wax
Avoid shaving so the wax can grip the hair. Gently exfoliate the area 2-3 days before your appointment to remove dead skin cells. If you’re sensitive to waxing, you can take an over-the-counter pain reliever 30 minutes before your appointment. We’ll also start with a small surface area to test your tolerance.
Prep & Cleanse
Before your treatment, your provider will clean the area thoroughly and apply a numbing cream if needed to help make treatment more comfortable.
Treatment
Warm wax will be applied to sections of your skin. We use a paper strip to quickly remove the hair from the root. Afterward, we’ll apply a soothing treatment to calm the skin and minimize redness.
